The Calgary industrial market is still active, with a number of projects planned or underway, however, a constrained serviced industrial land supply is likely to bring about challenges in 2007.
There are over 1.5 million sf of new buildings underway, with plans and permits for another 2.0 million sf. The majority of the activity is occurring in the southeast submarket, specifically Foothills, Eastlake and Southbend. Numerous distribution spaces are planned and underway in these areas. The Northeast is also seeing significant distribution facility development as a result of locations in proximity to the airport.
