Petro-Canada acquisition confirms Calgarys place
on the global stage.
Calgary Inc. President and CEO responds to $3.2
billion deal.
(Calgary Alberta, January 30, 2002) - Georgine
Ulmer, President and CEO of Calgary Inc. says Calgary-based Petro-Canadas
acquisition of Veba Oil and Gas of Germany confirms Calgarys status
as a global player.
This is the second historic deal in Calgarys
oil and gas sector in just one week, said Georgine Ulmer, President
and CEO Calgary Inc. This acquisition shows Calgary companies continue
to compete at an international level and create world-class opportunities
in Calgary.
Earlier this week PanCanadian Energy Corp. and
Alberta Energy Co. announced a $27-billion merger.
