What is the C-Prosperity Initiative?
C-Prosperity is an economic cluster development
action plan. It brings together government, business and community leaders
to assess our economy and develop action plans that move our region forward
- ensuring that we strengthen our global competitiveness while respecting
desire to enhance quality of life. Together, we determine what drives
our regional economy and develop sustainability measures to monitor our
progress in enhancing quality of life.
The initiative addresses three questions
fundamental to a prosperous and sustainable future for the Calgary Region:
- what drives the current and future economy?
- what can we collectively do to support that
growth?
- what action do we take to support our values
and quality of life enhancement?
The cluster development approach is a
successful framework that has been used around the world for 25 years
in locations as diverse as Silicon Valley, New York City, Edmonton, Ottawa,
South Africa, Scotland, and New Zealand.
