Leadership
Rallying industry, government and institutional
leaders into collaborative action, and involving many in a discussion
about how to incorporate quality of life considerations into cluster development
will embrace several hundred people in the region. The initiative management
structure reflects emphasis on involving community leaders in an ongoing
process.
The success of the initiative rests on
the ability for municipal, provincial and federal government agencies,
and industry and institutions to establish new collaborative approaches
and establish a new model of community development in the Calgary Region.
"Government" is taking a lead role in early stages of the initiative to
facilitate an initial process, but C-Prosperity has built in an expectation
that community, institutional and business leaders invest in and take
an ownership role of C-Prosperity and its ongoing implementation. This
expectation is founded on a belief that those who are closest to the challenges
we must meet and who benefit from action are best able to meet challenges
and in so doing enjoy the benefits of collaborative action.
