Economic foundations
including human resources, innovation, infostructure, transportation and
physical infrastructure, technology, and business climate, are inputs
needed by each cluster in the region. In a sense, each economic foundation
is a 'supplier' to the region's economy.
Having competitive
foundations, and more importantly, 'distinctive' sources of advantage
in these foundations enables firms to form, expand, spin-off and locate
in the region. Overall, the Calgary region has good, competitive foundations.
