The Retail Trade in Calgary is extremely strong. As the city’s
major employer, Calgary’s retail sector offers a diverse range of
opportunities.
Components of Calgary’s retail sector include a variety of regional
and community shopping centres, as well as neighbourhood and community
strip malls throughout all four quadrants of the city. In the past
year, a number of major retail expansions have taken place including,
Stephen Avenue Mall, Chinook Centre, Crowfoot Centre, and South
Centre.
Calgary’s Downtown offers first class retail shopping at Bankers
Hall I and II, Eaton’s Centre, Toronto Dominion Square, Scotia Centre
and Eau Claire Market.
Calgary continues to have strong retail sales, consumer confidence,
